THE BRIEF
–
The Place Vendôme jewel takes its shape from the square itself. It still had to be shown, and shown without being explained. The brief came in two movements: film the work on the stone in the workshop, gesture by gesture, then reveal the correspondence with the square. No model, no voice-over, no tagline. An obvious match of shapes, or nothing.
OUR PLAYGROUND
–
First Frame carried the full production and post-production. The workshop first, shot in macro: the torch, the stone held in the tweezers, metal heated to red, the loupe, hands that know. Then the cut that is the whole film: the octagon of the jewel and the octagon of the square, the same figure at two scales, found again from the sky at dusk, the column at its centre. Aerial photography, workshop shoot, editing, grading and sound.
