THE BRIEF
–
Desperados launches its tropical flavour and wants a film that extends the poster rather than repeating it. In a bar, the bottle is sent sliding down the counter. As it travels it multiplies, and the campaign artwork, until then frozen on city walls, comes to life behind it as a fresco of fruit, all the way to the packshot. Three techniques to fit into fifteen seconds: live action, visual effects and motion design, with no visible seam.
OUR PLAYGROUND
–
First Frame built the crew around that specific constraint: a director of photography from lifestyle films, a motion designer to bring the vector artwork to life, and a VFX supervisor on set from day one to prepare the tracking and the compositing. The travelling shot called for a camera rig locked to the bottle, and the location, a brasserie redressed as a tropical bar, hanging plants and passion fruit included. Then full post-production, through to the deliverables: two durations, three ratios, one barman version and one barmaid version.
