THE BRIEF
–
Sephora trains its beauty advisors on Sephora University, its internal learning platform. For the Californian skincare brand Youth to the People, the request is as simple as it is demanding: have the founders tell the story of their formulas, their actives and their promise themselves, in a format that holds the attention of a team on the shop floor. An educational film that does not look like a training tool.
OUR PLAYGROUND
–
First Frame handled the post-production of the film: edit, graphic design, finishing. Four minutes of straight-to-camera delivery with Greg Gonzales and Joe Cloyes, the two co-founders of Youth to the People, to be tightened without losing the natural tone: everything comes down to the choice of takes and the handling of rhythm. The graphics then take over from the words, hand-drawn first names, role captions, product benefits punctuating each demonstration. The film fits the Sephora University guidelines without borrowing their coldness.
