THE FILM

De Cœur et d’Or, a documentary by Vincent Deby produced by Quad Lab and aired on Canal+ Foot on 11 November 2022: the birth of RC Lens’s women’s section, filmed over two seasons, the first, 2020-2021, cut short by Covid, then the next under Sarah M’Barek. Players nobody knows yet, juggling football with studies, jobs and family, with no star status and no salary, defending the blood and gold colours in the second division. The music had to give these unknowns the stature of a great club, without ever sounding bigger than they are.

Twenty-eight tracks, forty-nine minutes of music for a sixty-seven-minute film: close to three quarters of the documentary carried by an original score, written as a duet by Axel Covo and Charles Sicouri. The Team opens the film, The Message closes it; in between, the pitch (Training Day, Derby, Big Game, Before the Match) and everything around it (School Time, Family Time, Mum and Dad, Street Life). First Frame handled the executive production of the music for Quad Lab.
