TESS LEDEUX • Behind the Mask
SYNOPSIS
–
At 24, Tess Ledeux already has the makings of a freestyle skiing legend: three-time world champion, Olympic silver medalist in Big Air, and one of the most decorated skiers in the history of her discipline. A few months out from the 2026 Winter Olympics, only one line remains to be written into her record: Olympic gold.
But a fall, a blow, and everything tips. A concussion threatens her preparation and forces her to reinvent herself. Between rehabilitation, doubts, media pressure and the urgency of the calendar, Tess has to learn again to trust herself, to come to terms with the invisible, and to rebuild balance in a daily life entirely structured by performance.
Tess Ledeux: Behind the Mask is an intimate and spectacular portrait of an extraordinary athlete, confronted with the vertigo of pause, and the art of rebuilding oneself. Beyond her personal trajectory, the film tackles head-on a subject still taboo in sports: long-term concussions, their impact on body and mental health, and the visibility of women’s sports.
A film by Mathias Lopez. Written by Axel and Rafael Covo. Produced by First Frame in association with France Télévisions.
